A READING FROM THE LETTER TO THE CORINTHIANS. (FIRST READER ONLY)

The Lord Jesus, on the night he was handed over/

Took bread/

And, after giving thanks, broke it./

"This is my body, which is broken for you./

Do this in memory of me", he said/

After supper, he took the cup, saying/

"This cup is the new covenant in my blood./

Whenever you drink it,/

Do it in memory of me./

Whenever you eat this bread/

And drink from this cup/

You proclaim my death until I come again"/
