A READING FROM THE GOSPEL OF JESUS ACCORDING TO
LUKE FOR THE FEAST OF
CHRIST THE KING (FIRST READER ONLY)
When Jesus had been crucified, the people stood
by watching,/
The leaders also mocked Jesus,/
The soldiers also mocked Jesus,/
One of the criminals, crucified beside Jesus, kept
deriding him saying,/
"If you are the Messiah, save yourself and
us."/
But the others rebuked him saying, "We have
been condemned justly/
We are getting what we deserve,/
But this man has done nothing wrong."/
Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you
come into your kingdom."/
Jesus replied, "Today you will be with me in
paradise."/
